Great places require a combination of good design, public investment, and social activity to bring people together in community. This doesn’t just happen on its own: placemaking is the process of bringing together the people and resources needed to support these places. Placemaking supports quality of life, a strong sense of community, and ultimately economic prosperity. The League and our partners support our members’ placemaking work, establishing Michigan as a globally recognized leader in public sector placemaking.
