Elections
There are only eight states in the nation that administer elections at the local level. Michigan’s election system, involving 83 county clerks, 281 city clerks, and 1,240 township clerks makes it the most decentralized elections system in the nation. Election processes at the local level are determined by state election law and city charters.
The best source for elections assistance is the Michigan Bureau of Elections at the Secretary of State (517-373-2540).
