About IACET & Why we ask for information

Many organizations offer some form of continuing education credit, but only the IACET CEU is held to the strict, research-based IACET Criteria and Guidelines for Continuing Education and Training. Only IACET Authorized Providers, who undergo a strict evaluation by continuing education peers, can award the IACET CEU. IACET Authorized Providers are required to re-apply and be reauthorized every five (5) years.
IACET Authorized Provider Status Means the Organization:
- Demonstrates compliance with proven, research-based criteria created in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Education
- Is dedicated to high standards for quality in continuing education and training
- Awards the IACET CEU, the hallmark for quality in continuing education and training
- There are some organizations, universities and state boards that recognize and accept the CEUs for a specific credential or license. The list can be found at http://www.iacet.org/resources/accept_ceu.htm. If your college or university is not listed here check with your registrar to find out if you can convert CEU’s to college credits.
