2008 Award Honors Huntington Woods Mayor

The League’s first annual Michael A. Guido Leadership and Public Service Award was presented last year to Huntington Woods Mayor Ronald F. Gillham for his outstanding public service to Michigan communities.

Created in memory of Dearborn Mayor Michael A. Guido, the peer-nominated honor celebrates a chief elected official who personifies professionalism and leadership, is dedicated to the citizens in their community and advocates on their behalf in Lansing and Washington, D.C.

“As one of Michigan’s longest serving mayors, Mayor Gillham embodies the passion, professionalism and leadership of Michael A. Guido and is a most fitting recipient of the first annual award,” said Deborah Doyle, 2007 League president.
