The Michigan Municipal League expanded its field operations in May of 1998 with the addition of a full-time northern field office staffed by Scott MacInnes, Consultant, Field Operations. This office is located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The primary purpose is to better serve League members whose geographic location places them far from the League Headquarters in Ann Arbor and the League State and Federal Affairs office in Lansing. Periodic scheduling of on-site visits with city and village officials in the northern regions of the state brings the League to them. These visits are to identify, and assist with, projects and issues; to provide information on MML member services, and on the League’s policy formation process; and to seek feedback on their effectiveness.
