Michigan Municipal League Honors Graduates of 2022 Elected Officials Academy
LANSING, Michigan –The Michigan Municipal League honored 20 graduates of its 2022 Elected Officials Academy during the League’s annual Capital Conference in Lansing.
Now in its 25th year, the Elected Officials Academy is an ongoing four-level program that educates and recognizes elected officials across the state for their dedication to becoming as professional and knowledgeable as possible in the role of public servant. The Elected Officials Academy, a voluntary education and recognition program, was created in 1997 by a board of elected officials working with League staff.
Recipients of the 2022 Level One Education Award who have completed 25 academy credits are the following elected officials: Autumn Scherzer, Saginaw; Maegan Jenkins, Clare; Michael Flores, Saginaw; Natalie Price, Berkley; Marian McClellan, Oak Park and Mike DeVore, Lowell.
The recipients of the 2022 Level Two Leadership Award by completing 55 academy credits are Veronica Paiz, Harper Woods; William Ostash, Saginaw; Valerie Kindle, Harper Woods; Bridget Dean, Berkley; Rock Abboud, Beverly Hills; Brad Dick, Linden; Pauline Repp, Port Huron; and Donald Gerrie, Jr., Sault Ste. Marie.
The recipients of the 2022 Level Three Governance Award by completing 100 academy credits are Kathy Winczewski, Ludington; Dennis Hennen, Berkley; Michael Misteravich, Richmond; Bob Monetza, Grand Haven; Eric Hufnagel, St Johns; and Melanie Piana, Ferndale.
There were no recipients this year of the Level Four Ambassador Award, which demonstrates the recipient’s practical application of all the education and skills he or she has acquired – but expect there to be recipients in the next year.
