The following is a statement from Rosalynn Bliss, Chair of the Urban Core Mayors, and Mayor of Grand Rapids.
“Bridges are a vital piece of infrastructure that help connect people, places, and businesses. Many Michigan bridges, including ones in the communities we represent, are in poor condition and in desperate need of repair. The announcement today that Michigan will be receiving $112 million annually for the next five years from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to preserve, rehabilitate, replace aging bridges is a historic investment in this critical infrastructure. Undoubtedly, this investment will improve safety, enhance economic growth, and support local jobs.”
