Senate Appropriations Committee Unanimously Supports Revenue Sharing Trust Fund
By: John LaMacchia, April 23, 2026

The League’s number one priority, the Revenue Sharing Trust Fund, took center stage in Senate Appropriations committee today.

The committee took testimony and a vote on Senate Bills 559, 561, and 912. These bills create the Revenue Sharing Trust Fund and tie statutory revenue sharing to a percentage of sales tax.

We were able to provide testimony on the legislation and show support from hundreds of local officials from across the state.

The committee unanimously (17-0) supported the bills. We anticipate that they could be voted on by the full Senate as soon as next week. The creation of trust fund was reflected in the Senate General Government budget (Senate Bill 861) and also passed by the committee.

This is a significant step forward for this legislation and ensures it will be a part of budget negotiations. We want to thank the sponsors and look forward to working with them to get these bills to the governors desk.
