The Michigan Municipal League has been asked to share this information about an upcoming webinar related to the opioid settlements. The information is from the Opioid Settlement Technical Assistance Collaborative (TAC) involving Michigan State University, Wayne State University, and the University of Michigan.
As part of a monthly series of educational webinars by the TAC, the next webinar will have experts from Wayne State talking about treating opioid disorders for people in jail. The virtual event is 2:30-4 p.m. Thursday, July 27. Register here.
The TAC invites local governments in Michigan who have or will receive Opioid Settlement Funds to join us for this session focused on jail-based substance and opioid-use disorder (SUD/OUD) services. Presenters from Wayne State University’s Center for Behavioral Health and Justice will describe evidence-based treatment interventions for incarcerated persons with SUD/OUD and provide recommendations for improving jail-based SUD/OUD services utilizing Opioid Settlement funds. The session will allow time for questions and answers.
Presenters:
- Matthew Costello, LMSW, Project Manager, Center for Behavioral Health and Justice, Wayne State University
- Allison Gorrine, LMSW, Research Assistant, Center for Behavioral Health and Justice, Wayne State University
