During the Michigan Municipal League’s recent webinar Re-opening Your Community: What’s the Best Strategy? an attendee asked if the League could compile a best practices document. The idea was to collect and share policies being planned or implemented for municipal buildings, parks, downtowns, employee policies, etc.
We have already begun to collect that information on the Best Practices page of our Coronavirus Resources site at mml.org/coronavirus. Currently, we have sample service announcements, virtual meeting notices, mayoral video messages, a return to staffing plan, emergency management plans, and more.
We would love to build up the Best Practices page. If your municipality has a policy for re-opening in any and all service areas (including staffing), please email it to Kim Cekola at [email protected].
We’ll make this information available to everyone so we can lean on each other to develop the best practices.
