U.S. Department of Transportation Publishes Notice of Funding Opportunity for BUILD Grants

Posted on April 28, 2019 by Dene Westbrook

The FY 2019 Appropriations Act appropriated $900 million to be awarded by the U.S. Department of Transportation for National Infrastructure Investment grants. This program is referred to as the Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development, or BUILD Transportation Discretionary Grants program.  Funds for the FY 2019 BUILD Transportation Discretionary Grants program are to be awarded on a competitive basis for projects that will have a significant local or regional impact.   The FY 2019 BUILD Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) and related information, including initial FAQs and a schedule for public webinars, is now available on the BUILD website (https://www.transportation.gov/BUILDgrants).  The application deadline is July 15, 2019.  The NOFO is expected to be published in the Federal Register on Monday, April 22.  In the next few days, previous BUILD applicants will be notified of the availability of the NOFO.

To provide technical assistance to stakeholders, DOT is hosting a series of webinars during the FY 2019 BUILD grant application period. To register and for more information, please visit the BUILD webinar series webpage at https://www.transportation.gov/BUILDgrants/outreach.
