Senate Committee Takes Up Bills Dealing With Dredging

Posted on March 7, 2013 by nbrown

This week, the Senate Tourism committee took up SB 218, introduced by Sen. Hansen (R – Hart).  This bill would allow TIF dollars collected from a Water Resource Improvement Tax Increment Finance Authority to be used for the dredging of harbors.  It also allows chemical treatment for aquatic nuisance control as an eligible activity for financing.

A similar but not identical bill, HB 4179, has been introduced in the House as well.  The League is supportive of both pieces of legislation.
