National Brownfield Association Program on Brownfield Issues Being Held Feb. 21, Register today!

On February 21, 2013, the Michigan Chapter of the National Brownfield Association is presenting a program on the newest developments on brownfield issues in Michigan.  The program will be held at the offices of the Michigan Manufacturers Association in downtown Lansing (620 S. Capitol Avenue, Lansing, Michigan 48933).

Program speakers will include the new Chief Operating Officer of the MEDC, the Vice President of Strategic Accounts from the
MEDC, Anne Couture of the MDEQ, and many others.  The presenters will discuss the recent amendments to Michigan’s Brownfield TIF programs (Act 381) as well as improvements to the MDEQ grant and loan program.  Municipal representatives with substantial experience on brownfield matters will provide practical advice to municipalities dealing with brownfield programs, including TIF accounting, reporting to the State, development of work plans, TIF schedules and reimbursement agreements, and other issues.  The speakers will also discuss the current status of Michigan’s Community Revitalization Program and what we can expect from the MEDC and the MDEQ in connection with brownfield redevelopment in 2013.  A complete Agenda can be found here.

Registration is $50 for NBA members, $125 for non-members, and $75 for non-members who are government employees.  Registration space is limited to the first 75 who register.  The program will be held from 9:00 to 3:30 on February 21, with registration commencing at 8:00.  Additional information regarding registration can be found here.
