Energy performance contract legislation passes House committee

Posted on September 12, 2012 by Dene Westbrook

Yesterday the House Energy & Technology committee passed HB 5727, a bill that allows the state to enter into energy performance contracts to reduce energy costs. As introduced the legislation placed a mandate on local units of government to enter into energy performance contracts; however, the bill was substituted to only apply to the state.

You can view the substitute bill here: HB 5727.h2.pdf (47.96 kb)

The bill now goes to the full House for consideration.
