The Office of Regulatory Reinvention is going on the road, along with several other agencies that are part of Governor Snyder’s economic growth executive group. In addition to the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) and the ORR, the economic growth group includes Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), and the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA). Its purpose is to bridge gaps between state government’s investments in economic development, transportation and housing, and better position Michigan to help revitalize our communities.
Representatives from these departments and agencies, as well as the Michigan Land Bank, are going on the road with the ORR to meet with area economic development partners, local officials, chambers of commerce, and other stakeholders to provide an overview of current initiatives and vision for the future. There will also be open discussion time for participants to share their views on issues of interest and concern to their communities.
The first roadshow will be hosted by Southwest Michigan First (www.southwestmichiganfirst.com) on Wednesday, August 15th from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM in Kalamazoo. More details here: Roadshow Invitation.pdf (134.15 kb)
