While the details won’t be known until next week, it has been confirmed that the Governor and House and Senate leadership agreed to put additional funding into the EVIP program (formerly statutory revenue sharing) for 2012-13, after the revenue estimating conference resulted in some slightly increased revenue projections. At this point, we are not clear if that increase is in the regular EVIP program, or the grants, or both. But any increased revenue is a positive step in the right direction. We are grateful that the House leadership pushed this issue, as they had proposed the highest funding level of the Governor, Senate and House proposals. The League will have updates early next week once the conference committee releases the budget language and figures.
