LANSING, Michigan – Governor Snyder unveiled his 2013 budget proposal this morning in front of a Joint Appropriations Hearing with Senate and House Committee members. Included in Snyder’s budget proposal is total funding of nearly $3.4 billion for transportation which is an increase of 4.4 percent from the previous year.
The transportation budget proposal matches all available federal highway aid for 2012. With the match of federal highway aid, the budget proposal provides $2.6 billion for state and local road and bridge construction maintenance projects. Additionally, the Governor’s budget proposal includes just over $300 million for public transportation services. The League will have more information about the budget proposal on Monday during our Budget Webinar. League members can sign up for the webinar here.
