The League’s Environmental Affairs Service
The League’s Environmental Affairs Service (EAS) is a fulltime advocacy
benefit that assists League members with environmental protection
and natural resource management issues at the state and federal levels.
The administrator also monitors and analyzes environmental-related
legislation and provides one-on-one assistance for communities experiencing
environmental compliance challenges or difficulty interacting with
state and federal environmental regulatory agencies. The service is
funded by a nominal surcharge on annual League dues.
In 1990, the League, prompted by the endless stream of new laws and
regulations to govern environmental activities, became the first state
municipal association ever to offer this type of service.
