Application Window Opens for FEMA’s Fire Services Grant Programs

Senator Peter’s has alerted us that the application window fow two of FEMA’s Fire Services Grant Programs opened today, Friday May 23rd, and will be closing on July 3rd.  Below are links to each program’s website; the Guidance Documents link will bring you to the Notice of Funding Opportunity, Fact Sheet, and other program resources:

Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response Grant Program (SAFER)

FY 2024 SAFER Application Period: May 23 – July 3, 2025

SAFER grants fund fire departments and volunteer firefighter organizations directly to help them increase capacity in their communities. The SAFER grant provides funding directly to fire departments and volunteer firefighter interest organizations to help them increase or maintain the number of trained, “front line” firefighters available in their communities. The goal of SAFER is to enhance the local fire departments’ abilities to comply with staffing, response and operational standards established by the NFPA (NFPA 1710 and/or NFPA 1720).

Fire Prevention & Safety Grant Program (FP&S)

FY 2024 FP&S Application Period: May 23 – July 3, 2025

FP&S grants support projects that enhance the safety of the public and firefighters from fire and related hazards and includes Firefighter Safety Research and Development.
