The Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) has scheduled a public hearing on Thurs., Sept. 8, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., to hear public comments on new, draft definitions and scoring criteria proposals prior to finalization.
Recently enacted Public Act 132 of 2022 changes the term “disadvantaged” community to “overburdened community,” adds the new term “significantly overburdened community,” and requires EGLE to update the definition with input from stakeholders and the public. In addition, the legislation requires EGLE to develop scoring criteria to prioritize projects for both the Clean Water State Revolving Fund and the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund programs. Online and in-person attendance options are available for the Sept. 8 hearing.
To attend via Zoom, join online at the time of the meeting at https://bit.ly/3PR9QkG. If you would like to join by phone only, please use the following phone number: 636-651-3142, and use conference code 374288.
