Please contact your State Representatives tonight as they move forward with voting on the harmful House Bill 4722 that would eliminate a municipality’s ability to regulate short-term vacation rentals. The Michigan Municipal League is hearing the House could vote on the bill tonight and it does not include compromises with local government groups.
League staff are in Lansing at the Capitol this evening fighting for our members, but we need your help by contacting your state Representative.
The League and several other groups and organizations put forth new bills recently that balance the necessity for communities to provide proper regulation and oversight over commercial enterprises in their neighborhoods while continuing to allow short-term rental properties in all communities. Unfortunately, the bill being voted on tonight does not take these new bills into consideration.
If you have your Representative’s cell phone number, please call it. Or call their office and leave a message. This issue has far-reaching impact on all communities and not just those dealing with short-term rental issues.
