State Asking Communities to Fill Out Survey About Broadband Expansion

Posted on April 29, 2021 by Dene Westbrook

Starting this Monday, May 3, the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) is asking Michigan city, village and township leaders to fill out an important survey about broadband service.

Below are details that the MPSC has asked the Michigan Municipal League to share with our members.

MPSC is a member of the Connecting Michigan Taskforce (CMIT), which is comprised of several State of Michigan agencies and departments. The purpose of the CMIT is to advise and assist the State of Michigan in improving coordination among stakeholders in addressing broadband and technology access and adoption issues in Michigan. This letter is being provided electronically to cities, villages, and townships located throughout Michigan.

The MPSC has developed an electronic survey for the purpose to obtain information from communities regarding public-private partnerships used for the expansion of broadband service throughout Michigan. While the completion of this survey is not mandatory, it is strongly encouraged. The survey will be available beginning May 3, 2021.

Please submit your responses no later than May 17, 2021.

Your cooperation in completing this survey is appreciated. Should you have any questions, please contact Sean Kelly by email at [email protected].
