The Department of Justice is has opened applications for the FY2020 Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Program.
The Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding (CESF) Program will provide funding to local law enforcement to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus. Projects and purchases include, but are not limited to:
- Overtime
- Equipment (including law enforcement and medical personal protective equipment),
- Hiring
- Supplies (such as gloves, masks, sanitizer), training, travel expenses.
- Travel expenses for resource distribution
- Addressing the medical needs of inmates in state, local, and tribal prisons, jails, and detention centers
A total of $8,443,973 is available to Michigan communities. You can find the list of eligible cities and their maximum allocations here.
To access resources: Communities eligible for a local direct award should submit the application, including federal SF424 forms, narrative, and budget, by May 29, 2020.
