Estimated Act 51 Payments for FY 2020

Posted on January 13, 2020 by John LaMacchia

Just before the legislature broke for the holidays, they were able to find agreement with the Governor and finalize the budget for FY 2020. Within that budget there was significant discussion about revenue for roads. The Governor was advocating for new revenue and the Legislature sent her a budget that included $400 more in General Fund spending which she vetoed.

The budget deal that was signed includes a small increase in transportation funding but does not include new revenue or a significant infusion of General Fund dollars. At this point the legislature and the Governor agree there needs to be a solution for funding our roads, but agreement still appears to be a ways off.

MDOT has produce the estimated Act 51 distribution for FY 2020 based on the budget signed by the Governor. Please click on the following link for estimated distributions for individual cities and villages. FY2020 Estimated Act 51 Distributions
