Comprehensive and compliant personnel policies are a municipality’s first line of defense in limiting liability with regard to employment issues. As such, we assist in the review and/or development of personnel policies manuals.
As with all our projects, personnel manual development is a highly interactive process. Throughout the process, we strive to include the greatest possible number of individuals affected by the ultimate product. Typically the process of reviewing, updating and/or developing personnel policies includes:
- Collection and review of all pertinent documents including labor contracts
- Development of draft table of contents
- Group discussions about the scope of the manual and discussion of complex issues
- Drafting a manual for review with various groups as deemed appropriate through discussions with the client
- Finalization and presentation of manual
