One of our MGC partners \u2013 the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE) \u2013 is conducting a climate change readiness assessment of state agencies, local governments and infrastructure operators. A key component of this assessment is a questionnaire focused upon designated leadership for climate preparedness\/action in local governments, the municipality&#8217;s institutional capacity to plan for and implement climate preparedness\/action, and resources provided by the organization to key personnel.<\/p>\n<p>The League wants to help EGLE get the input and data it needs for this assessment because it will help the state shape new programs providing education, training, technical support and other resources to local governments. The state is working with the Association of Climate Change Officers (ACCO) to conduct the survey and they are asking<strong> one person meeting one of the following descriptions to participate:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An individual who leads the climate change, resilience or sustainability efforts of your municipality;<\/li>\n<li>An individual who serves as a primary participant on a committee that leads the municipality&#8217;s climate change, resilience or sustainability; or<\/li>\n<li>An individual who directs emergency management or business continuity for your municipality; or<\/li>\n<li>An individual in an executive leadership role with oversight of the above-referenced initiatives and visibility of related activities across the organization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The designated individual can <a href=\"https:\/\/climateofficers.org\/s\/ACCO-MichiganEGLE-Readiness-Questionnaire.pdf\">download the questionnaire<\/a> and then respond at the following link: https:\/\/www.surveymonkey.com\/r\/Michigan-Readiness.
