{"id":6623,"date":"2019-04-23T23:07:13","date_gmt":"2019-04-24T03:07:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.mml.org\/wp\/inside208\/?p=6623"},"modified":"2019-04-23T23:07:13","modified_gmt":"2019-04-24T03:07:13","slug":"reminder-pavement-warranty-program-must-be-adopted-by-local-road-agencies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mml.org\/inside208\/2019\/04\/23\/reminder-pavement-warranty-program-must-be-adopted-by-local-road-agencies\/","title":{"rendered":"Reminder: Pavement Warranty Program Must be Adopted by Local Road Agencies"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"fusion-fullwidth fullwidth-box fusion-builder-row-1 fusion-flex-container nonhundred-percent-fullwidth non-hundred-percent-height-scrolling\" style=\"--awb-border-radius-top-left:0px;--awb-border-radius-top-right:0px;--awb-border-radius-bottom-right:0px;--awb-border-radius-bottom-left:0px;--awb-flex-wrap:wrap;\" ><div class=\"fusion-builder-row fusion-row fusion-flex-align-items-flex-start fusion-flex-content-wrap\" style=\"max-width:calc( 75rem + 2.5rem );margin-left: calc(-2.5rem \/ 2 );margin-right: calc(-2.5rem \/ 2 );\"><div class=\"fusion-layout-column fusion_builder_column fusion-builder-column-0 fusion_builder_column_1_1 1_1 fusion-flex-column\" style=\"--awb-bg-size:cover;--awb-width-large:100%;--awb-margin-top-large:0px;--awb-spacing-right-large:1.25rem;--awb-margin-bottom-large:0px;--awb-spacing-left-large:1.25rem;--awb-width-medium:100%;--awb-spacing-right-medium:1.25rem;--awb-spacing-left-medium:1.25rem;--awb-width-small:100%;--awb-spacing-right-small:1.25rem;--awb-spacing-left-small:1.25rem;\"><div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper fusion-flex-justify-content-flex-start fusion-content-layout-column\"><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-1\"><p>As part of the Transportation Funding Package of 2015, the Michigan Legislature created a requirement (MCL <a href=\"http:\/\/www.legislature.mi.gov\/(S(h0tzgy53dh34j5dwkwbyh4fa))\/mileg.aspx?page=getObject&amp;objectName=mcl-247-662\">247.662<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.legislature.mi.gov\/(S(h0tzgy53dh34j5dwkwbyh4fa))\/mileg.aspx?page=getObject&amp;objectName=mcl-247-663\">247.663<\/a>) that each local road agency in Michigan adopt a Local Pavement Warranty Program acceptable to the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT).<\/p>\n<p>The resulting Michigan Local Agency Pavement Warranty Program is the statewide accepted format that local agencies can use for hot mix asphalt (HMA) and plain jointed concrete paving projects on public roads and streets, if they opt to utilize a warranty on a project.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This Warranty Program must be adopted by every community no later than September 18, 2019. <\/strong>Every community must consider a warranty on each project utilizing any state or federal funding that also includes $2 million or more in paving-related components.\u00a0 Communities must annually report on projects with $2 million or more in paving-related items, regardless of whether they implemented a warranty or not.<\/p>\n<p>To help with the adoption process the League has created a webpage dedicated specifically to this issue. You will find sample resolutions to adopt and implement, as well as guidelines and special provisions specific to the local agency pavement warranty program.
