{"id":6222,"date":"2018-10-09T12:05:24","date_gmt":"2018-10-09T16:05:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.mml.org\/wp\/inside208\/?p=6222"},"modified":"2018-10-09T12:05:24","modified_gmt":"2018-10-09T16:05:24","slug":"new-state-fiscal-year-brings-treasury-grant-opportunities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mml.org\/inside208\/2018\/10\/09\/new-state-fiscal-year-brings-treasury-grant-opportunities\/","title":{"rendered":"New State Fiscal Year Brings Treasury Grant Opportunities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With the start of the state&#8217;s 2018-19 fiscal year last week, two grant opportunities within Treasury are again available to local units:<\/p>\n<p>The<em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.michigan.gov\/documents\/treasury\/Financial_Data_Analytic_Tool_Program_Info_2019_635135_7.pdf\">Financial Data Analytic Tool Reimbursement Program<\/a><\/em>\u00a0is intended to partially reimburse cities, villages, townships, counties, and regional councils of government, up to 50% of the costs,\u00a0for financial forecasting and transparency reporting tools acquired through State approved vendors (Munetrix or Forecast5).\u00a0 Treasury has approximately $800,000 to distribute to local governments under this grant program.<\/p>\n<p>All cities, villages, townships, counties, and regional councils of government that enter into an agreement, <strong>on or before December 1, 2018,<\/strong> with one of the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget approved financial data analytic tool vendors are eligible for up to 50% reimbursement under the Financial Data Analytic Tool Reimbursement Program.<\/p>\n<p>Additional information on this program and grant applications will be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.michigan.gov\/treasury\/0,4679,7-121-1751_2197-451435--,00.html\">available through this link<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.michigan.gov\/treasury\/0,4679,7-121-1751_2197_58826_69378---,00.html\"><em>Financially Distressed Cities, Villages and Townships Grant Program<\/em><\/a> is also accepting applications for the new fiscal year.\u00a0 Treasury has $2.5 million available\u00a0to provide grants to financially distressed cities, villages, or townships with one (1) or more conditions that indicate probable financial distress. Grant funding\u00a0is to\u00a0be used to pay for specific projects or services that move the city, village, or township toward financial stability.<\/p>\n<p>Municipalities interested in applying for an award must submit applications to Treasury <strong>by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21, 2018<\/strong>.\u00a0 The grant application can be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.michigan.gov\/documents\/treasury\/Form_5193_Financially_Distressed_Cities_Village_and_Townships_FDCVT_Application_FY_2019_635277_7.pdf\">found through this link<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gdp\" style=\"margin: 11.25pt 0in 11.25pt 0in\"><em>Chris Hackbarth is the League\u2019s director of state &amp; federal affairs.
