{"id":2553,"date":"2013-11-18T14:52:06","date_gmt":"2013-11-18T18:52:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.mml.org\/wp\/inside208\/?p=2553"},"modified":"2013-11-18T14:52:06","modified_gmt":"2013-11-18T18:52:06","slug":"house-considers-legislation-eliminating-printed-copies-of-tax-rolls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mml.org\/inside208\/2013\/11\/18\/house-considers-legislation-eliminating-printed-copies-of-tax-rolls\/","title":{"rendered":"House Considers Legislation Eliminating Printed Copies of Tax Rolls"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"ltr\">Last week the House Local Government Committee heard testimony on <a href=\"http:\/\/legislature.mi.gov\/documents\/2013-2014\/billintroduced\/House\/pdf\/2013-HIB-5102.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HB 5102<\/a>, a bill that would eliminate the requirement that county treasurers make a printed copy of the tax rolls available for inspection, if the tax roll is maintained on a computerized database.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">Now under the law, the State Tax Commission must authorize the use of a computerized<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">data base system as the tax roll if the local tax collecting unit or the county treasurer<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">demonstrates that the proposed system has the capacity to enable compliance with nine state requirements.
