{"id":2047,"date":"2013-06-13T13:58:30","date_gmt":"2013-06-13T17:58:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.mml.org\/wp\/inside208\/?p=2047"},"modified":"2013-06-13T13:58:30","modified_gmt":"2013-06-13T17:58:30","slug":"house-considers-drain-code-changes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mml.org\/inside208\/2013\/06\/13\/house-considers-drain-code-changes\/","title":{"rendered":"House Considers Drain Code Changes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This morning the House Local Government Committee heard testimony on House Bills 4622 and 4793, bills that make some procedural changes to the Michigan Drain Code.<\/p>\n<p>More specifically <a href=\"http:\/\/www.legislature.mi.gov\/documents\/2013-2014\/billintroduced\/House\/pdf\/2013-HIB-4622.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HB 4622<\/a> would modify the procedures for changing the boundaries of county drainage districts. It would modify the process by eliminating boards of determination and allowing review by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.legislature.mi.gov\/documents\/2013-2014\/billintroduced\/House\/pdf\/2013-HIB-4793.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">House Bill 4793<\/a> deals with the taking of private property.
