The Federal Emergency and Management Association (FEMA), is accepting grant applications <\/a>for the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response Program (SAFER).<\/p>\n

The SAFER program provides funding to assist communities in hiring new firefighters, retaining existing ones, or rehiring those that have been recently released.<\/p>\n

The program guidance and application kit is available on the Assistance to Firefighters Grant website<\/a>.  Applications are being accepted through Friday, February 24th.<\/p>\n
