A local match is not required, although applicants are encouraged to demonstrate additional support for their projects when possible.<\/p>\n<p>Eligible projects must be located in St. Clair, Macomb, Oakland, Wayne, Washtenaw, Livingston, or Monroe counties. Local and municipal governments are among the eligible applicants.<\/p>\n<p>Funding is available across three project categories:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Expanding nature-based solutions and access to nature<\/li>\n<li>Improving habitat quality and connectivity<\/li>\n<li>Activating restored habitats and natural areas<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Communities considering an application should review the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/qfxaq-cmpzourl.maillist-manage.com\/click\/1ebdc0bbcfd804d0\/1ebdc0bbcfd7f89f\">2026-2027 Request for Proposals<\/a><\/strong> for complete eligibility requirements and project guidance.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants can also participate in a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/qfxaq-cmpzourl.maillist-manage.com\/click\/1ebdc0bbcfd804d0\/1ebdc0bbcfd7f8a0\">workshop on Sept. 17<\/a><\/strong> to discuss project concepts with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and its field liaisons and receive assistance ahead of the deadline.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Full proposals are due Oct. 14, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. CT.<\/strong> Awards are expected to be announced in March or April 2027.<\/p>\n<p>Additional information, including the applicant webinar recording and current program materials, is available through the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/qfxaq-cmpzourl.maillist-manage.com\/click\/1ebdc0bbcfd804d0\/1ebdc0bbcfd7f8a4\">Southeast Michigan Resilience Fund program page<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Communities interested in technical assistance can also contact Throwe Environmental\u2019s Great Lakes field liaison team at <strong><a href=\"mailto:greatlakes@throwe-environmental.com\">greatlakes@throwe-environmental.com<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Herasanna Richards is a legislative associate handling energy, environmental, and external municipal services for the League.
