Recently, an informal economic adviser to President Donald Trump, suggested eliminating the tax exemption for municipal bonds in an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2025-03-21\/trump-adviser-calls-to-end-muni-tax-break-in-threat-to-market\"><span data-ccp-charstyle=\"Hyperlink\">interview<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\"> and shared<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/StephenMoore\/status\/1902707529836028348\"><span data-ccp-charstyle=\"Hyperlink\">tweet<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\"> that read &#8220;An Easy Way to Save $250 Billion&#8230; Currently, the deduction primarily benefits Wall Street traders, <\/span><strong><span data-contrast=\"none\">mayors<\/span><\/strong><span data-contrast=\"none\">, and public unions-hardly a fiscally responsible choice for a nation grappling with debt.&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>There is good news though, and an opportunity for you to help, but we must act immediately.<\/p>\n<p>Congressman Don Bacon (R-NE) is sponsoring a Dear Colleague letter in support of preserving the tax exemption for municipal bonds. This is an incredibly important step for Congressional members to publicly demonstrate their support for bonds. We are aiming to secure <span data-contrast=\"auto\">co-signers from our Michigan delegation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Many of you have already been engaging with offices on this issue, and we encourage you to share the sign-on link with your members of congress.
