{"id":1266,"date":"2012-08-10T12:31:00","date_gmt":"2012-08-10T12:31:00","guid":{"rendered":"\/advocacy\/inside208\/post\/Workgroup-to-examine-fireworks-law.aspx"},"modified":"2012-08-10T12:31:00","modified_gmt":"2012-08-10T12:31:00","slug":"workgroup-to-examine-fireworks-law","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mml.org\/inside208\/2012\/08\/10\/workgroup-to-examine-fireworks-law\/","title":{"rendered":"Workgroup to examine fireworks law"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday Representatives Hugh Crawford (Novi) and Harold Haugh (Roseville) announced that they will be heading up a new four-person House workgroup to look at the state&#8217;s fireworks law.&nbsp; The workgroup is expected to look at a few issues including reducing the types of fireworks available and limiting the dates that&nbsp;they can be fired off.&nbsp; Representatives Wayne Schmidt (Traverse City) and David Rutledge (Ypsilanti) will also be on the workgroup. <\/p>\n<p>Additionally, League staff had a good meeting this past week with Representative Haugh and will continue to provide input to the legislature on this issue.
