{"id":1260,"date":"2012-08-27T14:28:00","date_gmt":"2012-08-27T14:28:00","guid":{"rendered":"\/advocacy\/inside208\/post\/Tell-Your-Story-The-FCC-wants-to-Hear-About-PEG-in-Your-Community.aspx"},"modified":"2012-08-27T14:28:00","modified_gmt":"2012-08-27T14:28:00","slug":"tell-your-story-the-fcc-wants-to-hear-about-peg-in-your-community","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mml.org\/inside208\/2012\/08\/27\/tell-your-story-the-fcc-wants-to-hear-about-peg-in-your-community\/","title":{"rendered":"Tell Your Story: The FCC wants to Hear About PEG in Your Community"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paranum\" style=\"text-indent: 0in;margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span><span style=\"font-size: x-small\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif\">The FCC has released a <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: x-small\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif\">Notice of Inquiry<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: x-small\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif\"> that &ldquo;solicits data, information, and comment on the state of competition in the delivery of video programming for the Commission&rsquo;s Fifteenth Report.&rdquo;&nbsp; The goal of the inquiry is &ldquo;to enhance [the Commission&rsquo;s] analysis of competitive conditions, better understand the implications for the American consumer, and provide a solid foundation for Commission policy making with respect to the delivery of video programming to consumers.&rdquo;&nbsp; As such, the Commission is encouraging &ldquo;thorough and substantive submissions from industry participants, as well as state and <strong>local regulators with knowledge of the issues raised<\/strong>.&rdquo;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span style=\"font-size: x-small\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paranum\" style=\"text-indent: 0in;margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span><span style=\"font-size: x-small\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif\">The Commission is seeking information on a number of issues directly related to local PEG operations.&nbsp; It is vitally important that PEG operators from across the country submit comments so that the Commission is provided with a full and complete picture of the status of PEG programming.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><span><span style=\"font-size: x-small\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paranum\" style=\"text-indent: 0in;margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span><span style=\"font-size: x-small\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif\">NATOA, ACM and ACT&nbsp;have provided a template to use to submit comments to the FCC.&nbsp; It is not necessary to answer all the questions posed, or to even use this template.&nbsp; Rather, the goal is to tell the Commission about PEG services in your community.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><strong><span><span style=\"font-size: x-small\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><span><span style=\"font-size: x-small\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paranum\" style=\"text-indent: 0in;margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"paranum\" style=\"text-indent: 0in;margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><strong><span><span style=\"font-size: x-small\"><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif\">If you don&rsquo;t tell the Commission about PEG programming in your community, no one will &ndash; except your cable operators!&nbsp; Act today.<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: x-small\"><em>Summer Minnick is the Director of Policy Initiatives and Federal Affairs.
