LANSING, Michigan<\/strong> \u2013 The Michigan Municipal League and our own John LaMacchia were both honored today for being among the “most effective” lobbyists in Michigan, according to the latest MIRS News Service\/EPIC-MRA Insider Survey.<\/p>\n

It’s the fourth time in recent years individual League staff and the MML were recognized in the survey. John LaMacchia, director of state and federal affairs, was honored in the individual lobbyist category in the survey that’s conducted every other year.<\/p>\n

“It is an honor to be recognized, but I’m most proud that our team collectively is considered among the most effective organizations in Lansing,” LaMacchia said. “This recognition would not be possible without an active membership that is willing to partner with our team and engage collectively on improving communities across Michigan. It is a great honor to advocate on their behalf and we are committed to continue being a strong voice for members in Lansing.”<\/p>\n

The recognition of the League and John making a real impact in Lansing politics was part of the 2023\u00a0Capitol Insider Survey done by MIRS News Service and EPIC-MRA.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s excellent to see others recognize what we already know \u2013 that John and our whole association do an outstanding job advocating on behalf of Michigan\u2019s communities every day,\u201d said Dan Gilmartin, CEO and Executive Director for the League. \u201cIt takes a lot of hard work, dedication, attention to detail to be effective in Lansing. But most importantly it takes a supportive, committed membership. Fortunately, we have both \u2013 a great staff and exceptional members who support us and act when called upon. Together we are making a difference in Lansing.\u201d<\/p>\n

The League garnered a top three ranking among statewide “membership organizations or associations.”<\/p>\n

LaMacchia, the League\u2019s director of state and federal affairs, placed in a tie for fourth in the category of individual lobbyist for a membership organization or association.<\/p>\n

The League\u2019s legislative team includes LaMacchia, Jennifer Rigterink, assistant director of state and federal affairs, Herasanna Richards, legislative associate, Dave Hodgkins, legislative associate, and Betsy Richardson, capital office coordinator.<\/p>\n
