{"id":12182,"date":"2023-03-09T14:32:09","date_gmt":"2023-03-09T19:32:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mml.org\/inside208\/?p=12182"},"modified":"2023-03-09T14:32:09","modified_gmt":"2023-03-09T19:32:09","slug":"mshda-missing-middle-funding-round-2-opening-march-20th","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mml.org\/inside208\/2023\/03\/09\/mshda-missing-middle-funding-round-2-opening-march-20th\/","title":{"rendered":"MSHDA Missing Middle Funding &#8211; Round 2 Opening March 20th"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Michigan State Housing Authority (MSHDA) will officially be opening Round 2 of funding for its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.michigan.gov\/mshda\/developers\/missing-middle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Missing Middle Housing Program<\/a> on\u00a0<strong>Monday, March 20, 2023.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Missing Middle Housing Program is a housing production program designed to address the general lack of attainable housing by increasing the supply of housing stock to support the growth and economic mobility of employees by providing cost defrayment to developers investing in, constructing, or substantially rehabbing properties targeted to Missing Middle households.<\/p>\n<p>Several changes have been made to the program since the first funding round (Round 1) including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicants are no longer required to be a non-profit developer.<\/li>\n<li>MSHDA will use 60%-120% AMI for the qualifying target household income range vs 185%-300% FPG.<\/li>\n<li>Maximum grant amounts are $70,000 per unit for projects of 12+ units and $80,000 per unit for projects of 11 units or less ($5 million maximum per project).<\/li>\n<li>The compliance period on for-sale units has been reduced to 5 years.
