{"id":1217,"date":"2012-10-01T10:06:00","date_gmt":"2012-10-01T10:06:00","guid":{"rendered":"\/advocacy\/inside208\/post\/Internet-Security-Systems-Bills-Pass-Senate-with-League-Amendments.aspx"},"modified":"2012-10-01T10:06:00","modified_gmt":"2012-10-01T10:06:00","slug":"internet-security-systems-bills-pass-senate-with-league-amendments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mml.org\/inside208\/2012\/10\/01\/internet-security-systems-bills-pass-senate-with-league-amendments\/","title":{"rendered":"Internet Security Systems Bills Pass Senate with League Amendments"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">The Senate passed SB <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.legislature.mi.gov\/documents\/2011-2012\/billengrossed\/Senate\/pdf\/2012-SEBS-1291.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">1291<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-size: x-small\"> and <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.legislature.mi.gov\/documents\/2011-2012\/billengrossed\/Senate\/pdf\/2012-SEBS-1292.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">1292<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-size: x-small\">, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mml.org\/advocacy\/inside208\/post\/Bills-Dealing-with-Internet-Security-Systems-Pass-Committee.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bills that would provide for regulation <\/a>of a new product on the market that allows any web access device to be used to remotely control security and other devices (heater\/air conditioner, etc) in a home or business.<span>&nbsp; <\/span>While the senate passed version of the bills are not perfect, we were able to work with the bill sponsor and the industry to put in a few amendments to help minimize the impact this has on our locals.
