The Michigan Municipal League <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mml.org\/advocacy\/inside208\/post\/MML-Releases-Sample-Resolution-Supporting-Increased-Transportation-Funding.aspx\">last month called for<\/a> our members to consider passing such resolutions and then sending them to state Legislators.<\/p>\n<p>So far resolutions have been drafted and approved in the cities of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mml.org\/resources\/sample_docs\/resolutions\/2013_3_22_transportation_resolution.pdf\">Hastings<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mml.org\/resources\/sample_docs\/resolutions\/2013_3_20_red_flag_program_lansing.pdf\">Farmington Hills<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mml.org\/pdf\/resources\/red_flag_program_lansing.pdf\">Bay City<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mml.org\/pdf\/resources\/Transportation_Infrastructure_resolution-3-6-2013.pdf\">East Lansing<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mml.org\/resources\/sample_docs\/resolutions\/Norton_Shores_Resolution.pdf\">Norton Shores<\/a>. You can view them all <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mml.org\/resources\/sample_docs\/resolutions.htm\">here on this page<\/a>&nbsp;and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mml.org\/resources\/sample_docs\/resolutions\/2013-1-25-road-funding.pdf\">here is a resolution template<\/a> that communities can work from if they so choose.&nbsp;The League hopes more communities to pass similar resolutions and send them to state lawmakers. This is a great way to let the state Legislature and Governor Snyder know that this is an issue our communities care about and an issue in which more action is needed. Some of the communities passed resolutions more catered to the concerns of their immediate region, such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mml.org\/resources\/sample_docs\/resolutions\/2013_3_20_red_flag_program_lansing.pdf\">Farmington Hills<\/a>&nbsp;did by&nbsp;calling for support of a regional transit system.
