The Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA), formerly known as the Marijuana Regulatory Agency, is committed to continuously improving its processes and procedures while engaging in transparent communication with cannabis industry stakeholders, including local units of government.

In response to stakeholder feedback, the CRA announced today its first statewide municipal summit, during which the agency will host a two-hour Zoom call to present information to local municipal officials and answer their questions regarding the state’s cannabis rules and laws.

The municipal summit – which will be held virtually to allow as many municipalities to attend as possible – is scheduled for January 30, 2023 from 10am to 12pm. Local municipal officials may RSVP for the summit by sending an email to [email protected] by 5:00pm on January 23, 2023. Officials who RSVP should include the name of their municipality as well as the name, email address, title, and phone number for all those planning to attend.

Any questions for the CRA that may be addressed during the municipal summit should also be included in the RSVP email. The CRA will confirm attendance via email with the Zoom link.

In addition to the municipality summit, the CRA continues to keep its municipality resources updated and available on the CRA website:

• A two-hour video in which the CRA compiled information from industry stakeholders, lawyers, and municipal officials, answering many of the questions that the CRA receives from local government officials – the video is available in the CRA’s video library, which can be found by clicking on the Resources tab.
• A 24-page Municipal Guide in which the CRA answers many of the most commonly-asked questions from municipal officials, including adult-use and medical facility licensing questions, as well as enforcement questions – the municipal guide is available in the Other Resources section of the CRA’s Laws, Rules, & Other Resources page.
