Recapping a Year Like No Other – MML’s New State of Your League Report

Posted on March 24, 2021 by Dene Westbrook

The Michigan Municipal League has released a new version of our State of Your League report.

Some organizations do annual reports and while we appreciate those, we always found them a bit dull and cumbersome to read. So, our State of Your League report aims to serve in that annual report role, but in a quick, lively-read-way chalk full of graphics and short updates on key League programs and initiatives.

This year’s report recaps the last 12 months – a year unlike any other. These past 12 months included a global pandemic, racial unrest following the tragic murder of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police officers, and a presidential election that culminated in a riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Behind the dramatic scenes and shocking headlines, the League has actively and persistently served and assisted our members.

In this report, we take a step back to look at where we’ve been as an organization and where we’re going to best serve the membership.

In the past year, the League responded to our members’ needs by launching our Community Wealth Building initiative; establishing resource pages related to COVID-19, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; fighting for legislation to help our communities function during the pandemic; and offering upward of 100 informative and educational virtual webinars and trainings for the membership (many of those webinars can be found here on our MML YouTube page).

We hope you check out the new report.
