Posted on April 30, 2020 by Dene Westbrook

The Michigan State Police, Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division (MSP EMHSD) will be hosting virtual FEMA public assistance applicant briefings at the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC).

Regional briefings start the week of 5/4/2020. Review the linked briefing announcement and map to identify which regional briefing to attend.

Eligible applicants could include state agencies, tribal governments, counties, cities, townships, villages, emergency responders, school districts, and certain private/non-profit organizations including hospitals. Work within your agency to limit the number of callers to only the essential finance staff who will be submitting these applications.

During the Virtual Applicant Briefings, MSP EMHSD will provide an overview of the PAGP, discuss eligibility requirements, and explain the project application and reimbursement processes. To obtain maximum benefit from the information presented at the briefing, a local governments should have representatives from management, emergency response, and accounting/finance/procurement operations participate.

Please note that to be eligible to receive FEMA funding, the applicant must attend one of the briefings. It is critical that you spell out your name and the complete agency name to receive credit.

If you have any specific questions about the briefings, please contact the State Public Assistance Officer, Tiffany Vedder at 517-284-3944 or [email protected].
