Posted on August 2, 2019 by Dene Westbrook

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has issued a letter notifying local agencies that the, Office of the Auditor General is conducting a performance audit of the Bridge Inspection Program within MDOT with one of the objectives being to “assess the effectiveness of MDOT’s efforts to administer quality control and quality assurance over bridge inspections, load ratings, and associated data and procedures,” the memo reads.

According to the letter, the audit will include local agencies. Meeting with local agencies may also be requested by the Office of the Auditor General. More information will be made available by MDOT if the Auditor General requests a meeting with your agency, and MDOT’s Bridge Inspection Program staff will be available to assist.
