State Fire Marshal Talks Fireworks – Friday, June 14 at 1:00 p.m.
By: Dene Westbrook, June 13, 2019

Join the State Fire Marshal, Kevin Sehlmeyer,  Friday, June 14 at 1:00 p.m. for a conversation clarifying the new state law on fireworks – what it means, what days are legal to shoot off consumer-grade fireworks, and what oversight local governments have. He’ll also offer tips for the safe use of fireworks, firing up the grill, and other summertime activities that pose a fire risk — what you need to know to avoid injuries, fire, or worse.

Sehlmeyer will also talk about MI Prevention – where thousands of homeowners across the Michigan are having smoke alarms and CO detectors installed free of charge. You will learn more about this first-of-its kind, statewide fire education and safety program and how you can benefit — to keep you, your family and your home safe.
