The legislation, supported by Secretary of State Ruth Johnson, would allow voters to register online at The system would authenticate identities by matching applicants with their driver’s license information.

The Senate Elections and Government Reform Committee voted 5-0 to report the five bill package of Senate Bill 425, 426, 427, 428 and 429. The legislation now moves to the Senate floor.
