Estimated Revenue Sharing Loss at Over $6 Billion Since 2001

Posted on April 4, 2013 by Dene Westbrook

Earlier this week Plante Moran released information that shows statutory revenue sharing cuts to communities in excess of $6 billion since 2001. You can view the information here: lost revenue sharing summary 4 2013.pdf (28.26 kb)

This year Governor Snyder has proposed flat funding for EVIP (formerly revenue sharing) and the House General Government Subcommittee passed a budget last week with flat funding.

Given that we have been cut more than $6 billion in the last dozen years and that state’s improved economic status, flat funding to EVIP is simply not good enough. Contact your legislators and ask them to increase funding for EVIP!
