Transportation Funding Update from the Michigan Municipal League

Posted on March 18, 2013 by Dene Westbrook

The Michigan Municipal League would like to offers its members a brief update on the transportation funding conversation currently taking place in the Legislature. The debate about how to fund Michigan’s roads has been a hot topic for the first two-and-a-half months of 2013. Nothing concrete has come forward, but the Governor and the Senate have released their plans. Neither of these plans appear to be the clear winner so it appears there will most likely be some sort of hybrid plan, if anything happens at all. This update aims to provide you with a very general overview of the Governor’s plan, the Senate plan, and what the most recent discussions entail.
