ALERT: EVENING UPDATE, Devastating New PPT Plan Still Being Actively Pushed in House, Keep Calling!

Posted on December 13, 2012 by Dene Westbrook

We’re hearing some members of the House of Representatives today, on the FINAL day of session, are proposing a whole new plan on personal property tax. We’re hearing this new plan will exempt ALL new personal property tax from local taxation as of January 1, 2013. This plan has NO REIMBURSEMENT for locals built in.

There are a number of members who have shared this potential proposal to us, and we have concerns about its potential passage. Earlier today we asked our members to call their state Reps in opposition to this plan and our members have been doing this in droves. The heat is on but we need our members to keep calling into this evening until the House adjourns.

This plan is worse than previous plans as it will result in personal property tax losses for communities THREE YEARS EARLIER than other proposed plans. It is extremely imperative that we let our lawmakers know RIGHT NOW that this plan is unacceptable and will have a detrimental effect on our communities.

CALL YOUR STATE REPRESENTATIVE RIGHT NOW and tell them how bad this is for your community!
