The Office of Regulatory Reinvention has been on the road with several other agencies that are part of Governor Snyder’s economic growth executive group. In addition to the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) and the ORR, the economic growth group includes Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), and the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA). Its purpose is to bridge gaps between state government’s investments in economic development, transportation and housing, and better position Michigan to help revitalize our communities.
Representatives from these departments and agencies, as well as the Michigan Land Bank, are going on the road with the ORR to meet with area economic development partners, local officials, chambers of commerce, and other stakeholders to provide an overview of current initiatives and vision for the future. There will also be open discussion time for participants to share their views on issues of interest and concern to their communities. The next will be hosted by Lake Superior Community Partnership (www.marquette.org) on Wednesday, September 5th from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM in Marquette on the NMU Campus in the University Center (Brule Room). The roadshow moves onto Traverse City on Friday, September 7th from 2:00 PM – 4 P.M. at NMC’s Hagerty Conference Center. The Traverse City event is sponsored by the Traverse Bay EDC and the Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce (www.tcchamber.org). If you are interested in attending, please email [email protected]
