On July 26th, the State Transportation Commission (STC) approved language that strengthens the Complete Streets Policy. A couple of weeks ago, the League submitted suggestions on strengthening the draft policy put forward by the STC. The biggest change from the draft policy is that MDOT is now required to work with local road agencies. The original language had stated that MDOT “may” work with local road agencies that are undertaking road or bridge projects with federal funds.
